The Primary Is Done... On To Super Tuesday!

John McCain and Hillary Clinton were the big winners in Florida's primary... but the real winner may have been Governor Charlie Crist. His endorsement of McCain came at just the right moment. The polls showed the race between McCain and Mitt Romney neck and neck. Perhaps Crist's endorsement gave McCain a little breathing room when the final numbers were tallied. Not only that, the governor's criss-crossing of the state to tout the property tax amendment worked. It garnered the 60%-plus it needed to pass, even when many polls showed it would fail. Could this two-fer help Crist as he unveils his 70-billion dollar budget to state lawmakers?

There were no *major* voting problems primary night... but the computer glitch that prevented precinct totals from being reported has again put pressure on Palm Beach County elections supervisor Dr. Arthur Anderson. Anderson already faces a challenger this year as his seat is up for election. He needs two more smooth nights before the optical scan machines come into play.

Even though his "Florida or Bust" strategy backfired... could Rudy Giuliani have stayed in the race any longer anyway. He probably wouldn't have fared well in Iowa or New Hampshire if he had campaigned heavily there, and his stance on some social issues just don't sit well with Republican primary voters.

Now it's on to Super Tuesday. If you like watching politics... it just doesn't get any better than this does it?
