No special session in Tallahassee this month. Apparently the House and Senate couldn't come to terms on ways to cut a billion dollars from the state budget. Governor Crist wrote a letter to both Senate President Ken Pruitt and House Speaker Marco Rubio today expressing his disappointment. The Governor also discussed several initiatives including: Helping Floridians become first time homeowners by apporpriating 50 million dollars for down payment assistance and reduced mortgage interest rates for lower income residents. The Governor also wants to speed up school construction statewide and fast-track the I-95 Express project. How would you help trim the state budget? Where have you seen wasteful spending?
