House Speaker Marco Rubio spoke to the Forum club of the Palm Beaches Monday. He told the audience that the property tax system is "the most unfair tax we levy in Florida." Rubio tried but failed to get the property tax eliminated during the past legislative session. He says the January 29th ballot amendment to give voters a "super exemption" isn't perfect... but it's better than what we have right now. Were you disappointed with the property tax reduction you received? (if it was a reduction at all.)

The Speaker also said the state has done about all it can when it comes to insurance reform.. and lawmakers have a lot of work ahead next month to shave more than a billion dollars from the state budget.

Rubio was actually allowed to keep his cell phone on during the luncheon. His wife is due any day now to deliver the couple's 4th child. Now that baby will certainly become the "speaker" of the house!
