Behind The Debate
If you live in the city (and even if you don't), I hope you had a chance to watch the West Palm Beach mayoral forum on the web. While the candidates kept a civil tone on the air, there's no question that Mayor Lois Frankel and former Commissioner Al Zucaro will not be breaking bread anytime soon. Right after the forum, both candidates left the studio at the same time and Mayor Frankel turned to Zucaro and accused him of being a "liar". She was upset over Zucaro's use of FDLE statistics that show the city's murder rate has risen dramatically since 2002. That year, the city had only 7 homicides. That's the only year in the past decade where the number of murders fell below double digits. The mayor counters that the overall crime rate in the city is down. What do you think about the candidates?
