So Howard Dean was in town this week talking about how Florida's Democratic delegation was going to be seated at the national convention this summer. Really? Unless we missed something, I didn't hear any exact plans on how this was going to happen.. just that they wanted it to happen. Did Howard Dean "punt" on this one when he said in essence, 'let the campaigns figure it out'? Isn't that what a party chairman is supposed to do... lead?

And if Hillary Clinton doesn't win this election... she has plenty of money to fall back on. Over the past 7 years, she and husband Bill have earned 109 million dollars. 109!! It pays to be president... maybe that's why Hillary is working so hard to get to the White House. In their defense, the Clinton's paid their fair share of taxes... 34 million dollars to be exact.

Florida's Democratic Party decided Monday not to hold a revote. An e-mail from Karen Thurman said the party "researched every potential alternative process - from caucuses to county conventions to mail-in elections - but no plan could come anywhere close to being viable in Florida."

What she noted was that last year in Tallahassee, Democratic legislators tried to set a February 5th primary date instead of Janaury 29th but were rebuffed by the Republicans. It was a proposed amendment to House Bill 537. Interesting that it was HB 537 since that was the number of votes that separated George W. Bush and Al Gore in Florida back in 2000.

So what's the solution? It may have to come from the DNC Rules & Bylaws Committee, which is scheduled to meet again in April.

A lot of talk in Tallahassee about a "do-over" in Florida. The state's Democratic Party chair is urging the presidential candidates to consider a combined vote-by-mail/in-person plan as a redo of the January 29th presidential primary. Democrats are trying to come up with a way to ensure their delegates are seated at the national convention in Denver. What do you think is the best way to solve this problem?

While we could go on and on about how the *whole* state would be voting today if the Legislature didn't move our primary (which seemed like a good idea at the time didn't it?), there are still a number of municipal elections on this Tuesday. While municipal elections traditionally have a low voter turnout, there are a number of races with a number of interesting issues. In Jupiter, the councilors running have differing views on the El Sol day labor center. In Riviera Beach, the "saggy pants" ordinance has garnered a lot of attention. If you have a race in your area, it's a good idea to exercise your constitutional right since these politicans are the ones who are most likely to hear, and act on, your concerns. We'll have complete coverage tonight as the results come in on the air, and at WPBF.com. What races or issues did you find interesting? And what do you make of the governor of New York caught in a prostitution ring?

Everything was looking so positive for the Democrats. Now they are facing the one Republican who is attractive to independents and Reagan Democrats. And, they cannot seem to agree among themselves who should be their standbearer. The longer the internal fight continues, the easier for McCain. He has a free ride in raising money for the general election. He can unite the Republicans behind him and, most importantly, he can set the agenda for the race. If the race is about national security, he can win. If it's about the economy, he's not nearly as strong. By the time Clinton beats up Obama and he returns the favor, McCain's job may well be done for him.

The Republicans already have their book written about Clinton. They will have a free hand writing it now about Obama and defining him before he can fully define himself. Sounds again like the old Will Rogers line. "I belong to no organized party. I'm a Democrat."

He tried and failed eight years ago. But tonight, John McCain has succeeded in becoming the Republican nominee for president. A candidacy that was left for dead last year has made a remarkable turnaround. A recent poll in Florida showed that voters here wanted a Republican in the White House in 2008. So will McCain be able to take the support he'll likely have in the north... and move it down the state?

John McCain has fought many heroic battles for this country. Now, he's fighting back against what he calls a "smear campaign". A New York Times article out claims that McCain may have had an inappropriate relationship with a female lobbyist. While the article never implicity says the two had a romantic relationship, there are comments that some of McCain's inner circle at the time tried to keep the woman away. Even if there were no romantic ties, just the implication that McCain had done favors for a lobbyist could sully a reputation built back up from when the Arizona senator was crushed in the S& L crisis a few decades ago. What I find interesting here is the timing of the article. I'm sure there are conservative Republicans out there who think that had this piece come out back in December, there would never have been the comeback McCain staged through the early primaries. What's your take on McCain's latest "pain"?

Would love to get your take on what's in store for the future of Cuba. Many people we spoke with today here, and down in Little Havana, believe that as long as the person in power has the last name of Castro... little will change. With Raul Castro fully in power, will there be any moves toward democracy?

Now with the race closer than ever on the Democratic side, what happens to Florida's delegates? Remember, they're not supposed to count since Florida moved up its primary against the wishes of the national parties. Hillary Clinton, who "won", obviously wants them to count. But isn't it funny how Florida moved up its primary so it would "count". Now it might not, and if the state had stayed in its original position, Florida would have had gained so much more attention from the campaigns.

Mitt Romney's surprise announcement on Thursday that he's suspending his race leaves John McCain with one lsess hurdle to the nomination. So does McCain need to "play nice" now and mend fences with the conservative wing of the party? If he does that, does he risk alienating the moderates and independent voters who have long supported him?

Then what about Florida Governor Charlie Crist's name being mentioned as a vice-presidential candidate? Is he too moderate for some Republicans?

News that Hillary Clinton needed to loan 5 million dollars to her own campaign raised eyebrows. It was further proof that Barack Obama is out fundraising the Clinton machine. His momentum won him more states on Super Tuesday, even if Hillary won the bigger ones. Where do you see this race going?
